All About Fuzz Machine Digital Gallery
I found it extremely challenging to see galleries and spaces in my local area that ever host open submissions. I had the privilege of having my art showcased at my local gallery while in high school. I will never forget the feeling of seeing my art, which I poured my soul into, hanging on a wall for public view. It filled me with so much emotion and confidence. Something that was so personal to me and made me so proud to produce and complete was getting the spotlight it deserved. Every artist should get the chance to feel like that. That's why I decided to create the Fuzz Machine Digital Gallery. Fuzz Machine Digital Gallery is an online platform where young and student artists can showcase their artwork for public viewing. Artists can submit their artworks and a short artist statement via the FMDG website for showcase. The gallery is intended for young artists to access and display their artwork. As a young artist, it can often be challenging to find a local gallery or space that accepts submissions. There is also a financial aspect to securing a space to display your art. Fuzz Machine provides an easily accessible, free way to share your art with the world.
Meet the Creator
Pasley Travers
My name is Pasley Travers, I’m a 20-year-old art student living in Canada, and honestly, I don’t remember a version of myself that wasn’t making something. Ever since I was a kid, I was that person who always had art supplies stuffed in a backpack or trailing behind me—paintbrush in my hand, paint all over my clothes, glitter in places it definitely shouldn’t be. Creating was just… automatic. There was never a question about what I wanted to do after high school; art school was always the dream. The day my acceptance letter came in, I was just ecstatic. I tried to drive home from the gym and ended up reversing into a stone wall, taking the bumper off my mom’s car. Probably not my proudest moment, but definitely one of the happiest.
Now, I’ve been in art school for about three and a half years, it feels like exactly where I’m supposed to be. It’s pushed me, grounded me, and made me fall even harder for the whole messy, beautiful process of making things. I want to take that love—everything art has given me—and put it back into the world and my community. Whether it’s through my own work or helping others find space for theirs, sharing art feels like the most natural thing I could ever do.
I'm always growing, changing and trying new things with this digital gallery space in hopes for it to reach those who need it most. I can't wait to see where this project goes!
